Here is the story of our most sensuously decadent tallow balm! With its vanilla and ylang ylang scent this unique tallow balm smells like a divine dessert while its base ingredients, 100% grass-fed beef tallow and organic extra virgin olive oil, make it a long-lasting emollient to help the driest of skin!

How many times have you made something experimenting with different flavors until you come up with “the way” that you will always make it?

Never content to make something just one way in the kitchen even if the recipe is good, I end up messing around with it.

Following recipes is not my strong point anyway. I am always trying to improve the recipe or adapt it to the ingredients on hand which ends up making it my version.

It seems that many cooks, makers and artists do this too. You can never truly make the exact thing that another person has made because it has been translated through you. The ingredients and elements that you have at hand will always give it a slightly different flavor.

Version 1.0 Ylang Ylang

This special tallow balm has had several different transformations before it became Infused Euphoria Tallowed Touch Tallow Balm.

Initially, in 2015, I tried to make it with rose infused tallow rather than vanilla infused tallow. I called this experiment Ylang Ylang. Ha! That was even before I was specifying “Infused”!

Infused Ylang Ylang began as a step up from my bestselling Infused Lavender Rose. It was a nice variation but was not meant to become a solid part of our Premiere Collection.

It wasn’t until 2020 that it occurred to me to use my beloved vanilla infused tallow as the base to help the ylang ylang sing out with pleasure.

Ever since I recognized this amazing combination it has become one of my favorite tallow balms!

Vanilla & Tallow Synergy

Infusions are a normal part of your life when you drink tea!

I love tea and have dabbled quite a bit in herbs as well. When I looked into vanilla essential oils and CO2’s I was very unimpressed with the quality.

I thought: ”Why not try infusing organic vanilla beans directly into the tallow?” I had already infused rose buds/petals in tallow and thought that this was the perfect way to get the beloved scent that I craved in the most authentic way possible.

Vanilla infused tallow has even the most discerning tallow and vanilla critic singing its praises! The scent of real organic vanilla beans is like night and day when compared to fake vanilla fragrance.

The vanilla beans create an intoxicating synergy with the tallow that will make you feel that they were made for one another.

My Process

First, I start with my unique vanilla infused tallow. Next, organic extra virgin olive oil is added for nourishing spreadability. Finally, organic ylang ylang essential oil with its sensuous character takes this unique tallow balm to new heights!

Why Ylang Ylang?

Ylang Ylang (Cananga Odorata) is a tree native to tropical rainforests of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and India, and a few other locations.

I chose Ylang Ylang essential oil because of its heavenly scent, but it has several very useful medicinal benefits that appealed to me as well.

Who is it Not for?

The scent may be too extreme for those of you who are sensitive to scents, however you can always order a Scent Sample to try it out.

One of our repeat customers uses it with a small dab of organic extra virgin coconut oil mixed in her hand, which she then applies on her face at night after washing it. The coconut oil makes the tallow balm more spreadable and it works great!
